"This is one of the amazing innovations going on in Canada, with regard to all issues, including Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and how Canadian social impact innovators are bridging the gap necessary to achieve those goals," she added.

RallyEngine’s suite of hosted services include mobile alerting (RealTime™), incident reporting (TipLine™), work/study-alone (SoloSafe™), and more. It powers the University of Calgary’s UC Emergency app and was procured by the Government of Canada to help enhance community capacity in High River.

Said High River’s former Director of Emergency Management Carly Benson: “Emergencies affect entire societies, and recovery is only effective when we can leverage our greatest resources – the citizens of our communities. It can be a challenge for Emergency Management to connect people who want to help with those who need help most urgently, and this is where RallyEngine comes in. RallyEngine is a helpful tool to better connect our community’s citizens and volunteer groups, and to more effectively engage and delegate well-meaning spontaneous volunteers from elsewhere.”

RallyEngine’s rallying (SurgeRoster™) and task delegation (TaskBoard™) features are currently being used by Field Innovation Team (FIT) as part of a post Hurricane Harvey volunteer deployment to Rockport, Refugio, and Corpus Christi, Texas. The mission is led by FIT’s Chief Wrangler – former FEMA Chief Innovation Advisor and current RallyEngine advisor – Desiree Matel-Anderson, and includes RallyEngine’s VP Product & Technology Tom Muir.

After a summer of wildfires in Western Canada, and as Hurricane Irma (and Jose and Katia and...) bear down on the Carribbean and Florida, it's never been more obvious the value that an efficient communications tool like RallyEngine can play. Alerting residents to evacuate, rallying key crisis teams, and effectively coordinating the inevitable surge of volunteer support – all essential ingredients for resilient companies, campuses, and cities.

Meanwhile, RallyEngine’s Chief Rallying Officer Aaron Salus is completing a 10-day trip to China as a guest of the 5th Canada-China Dialogue on Innovation and Cultural Ingenuity, where he presented about how Canadian innovation is helping make a positive difference in the world.
